With 25 years’ experience in elite & professional sports Paul has dedicated his careers as both a professional athlete & a clinician to achieving excellence. He has a passion for quality & believes everyone should be able to access healthcare to the highest standards.
Paul competed for Great Britain for over 11 years in athletics. His achievements include over 30 international caps, 5 times British champion, Bronze medalist European Club Cup, World University Games, 9th European Championships and Commonwealth Games finalist.
Paul’s passion for sport led him to study physiotherapy where he graduated with first class honours in BSc Physiotherapy; he later gained a distinction in MSc Sports Physiotherapy, a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Manipulative Physiotherapy, a Post Graduate Certificate in Strength & Conditioning, and he also holds a BSc honours degree in Exercise Physiology.
Paul holds post graduate qualifications in spinal manual therapy and acupuncture and has completed over 60 additional post graduate courses. Paul is ‘Gold’ Accredited with the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports and Exercise Medicine. He was previously an honorary clinical teaching fellow at Keele University & has spoken at many national & international medical conferences.
Clinically Paul has worked in Orthopaedics, Musculoskeletal & Sports Injuries for 15 years and has over 7 years clinical management experience. He has worked within private sports practice, private hospitals and elite sports performance settings.
Paul was Physio to the Great Britain Senior Men Basketball team & as Lead Physiotherapist at the National Football Centre for 5 years Paul worked day to day with professional footballers, England footballers, a wide variety of professional & Olympic athletes from winter sports, Judo, Boxing, Athletics, Motor sports, Professional Golfers, Rugby and Cricket.
Paul is currently a consultant sports physio to the English Professional Referees (PGMOL), with Uttoxeter Gymnastics club where he treats & manages the elite squads, with the Professional Squash Association (PSA) on world tour tournaments & with Staffordshire Cricket. Paul also lectures for Theragun, works with celebrities & the general public, particularly those with complex issues.
He uses all his experience of working with elite sports & brings this philosophy to the everyday champion, whether they are a weekend warrior, a recreational athlete or those who want to continue with normal daily activities. He has found great success using this philosophy & has created unique rehabilitation principles to accelerate the recovery process that are not normally accessible to the general public.
